ROOM CLEARING
CLOSE QUARTERS COMBAT
CQB TRAINING

War HOGG Tactical teaches both day and night room clearing, close quarters combat (CQB) training, based on combat experiences and teaching experience as a Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course (SFAUC) instructor.

Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) Course
The Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) course is an advanced, team-oriented training program for U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) focused on enhancing skills for direct action missions in dense, hostile urban environments. It emphasizes close-quarters battle (CQB), combat marksmanship (CMMS) under stress, breaching, urban movement, and team interoperability, incorporating lessons from real-world operations like those in Iraq and Afghanistan.
War HOGG Tactical provides room clearing / close quarters combat (CQB) training for both military units or law enforcement agencies based on real world combat experiences. We also draw from our teaching experience as a Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) Course Instructor
We can also address how to integrate K9s into the room clearing / CQB process for a law enforcement SWAT Team or military unit from our experience of being a Special Operations Forces K9 handler

Room Clearing & Close-Quarters Combat (CQB) with a K9
Room clearing with a K9 brings an entirely different level of capability — and complexity — to close-quarters combat. A properly trained K9 is a force multiplier, giving the team early warning, enhanced detection, and rapid control over threats in confined, high-risk environments. But successful CQB with a K9 requires disciplined handlers, predictable team movement, and a deep understanding of canine behavior under stress.
In a CQB environment, the K9 leads the search, identifying threats, locating suspects, and clearing dead space that human assaulters cannot safely or efficiently access. The dog’s ability to detect motion, odor, and hidden threats provides the team with real-time intelligence before crossing a threshold or committing to a room. When deployed correctly, a K9 can reduce exposure to officers, drive suspects out of concealment, and bring decisive advantage during close-range confrontations.
Effective K9 integration relies on tight communication between handler and team, consistent positioning, and rehearsed entry techniques. Teams must maintain muzzle awareness, spacing, and angles that support the dog’s movement without impeding its drive or exposing it to unnecessary risk. From hallways to T-intersections to multi-room structures, the K9’s natural hunting instincts — combined with modern training and tactical discipline — create a dynamic clearing strategy capable of controlling and dominating interior environments.
Whether used for patrol operations, warrant service, barricaded suspects, or active threat missions, CQB with a K9 enhances speed, security, and situational awareness. When the handler, dog, and team operate as a single unit, the K9 becomes more than a partner — it becomes a combat multiplier that changes the fight.
