Shooting under physical duress is a staple of all War HOGG Tactical Law Enforcement firearms training. The ability for a shooter to be efficient and effective under physical stress, (ie elevated heart rate, heavy breathing and muscle fatigue) is critical to the law enforcement officer during a deadly force encounter.
Introducing physical stress into a marksmanship program is paramount once a solid marksmanship foundation has been built. This can be done numerous different ways to introduce physical duress. Events like having the shooter run on the range or do exercises to increase their heart rate.
This type of functional fitness on the range allows the officer the ability to see if their equipment (or kit) is properly set up and gives the officer a diagnosis of their physical ability. Functional fitness is a blend of traditional and unconventional training methods, using a variety of different equipment and movements in preparation to perform any physical activity relative to sport, activity, or occupation. While this has remained the same, the training equipment and modalities have evolved.

The ability to lift or unconventionally move an odd object or unstable, uneven load efficiently and effectively with the intent of improving functional work capacity and performance.
